The Savage, MN real estate market consists of nearly 8,800 households according to the latest census.  It is estimated that 27,000 people call Savage their home.  There were 347 closed real estate transactions in Savage in 2008.  The oldest district in Savage sits on the banks of the Minnesota River and development has continued south to neighborhoods like Dufferin Park  and The Pointe.   Savage is best known for a famous 20th century racehorse, Dan Patch, and for playing a significant role in grain shipping with 5 private facilities along the Minnesota River but that is not why people choose Savage as their home.  People that live in Savage say the convenient location, community atmosphere, and great school system attracted them to Savage and persuaded them to stay.
