January Housing Statistics for Prior Lake
Real Estate sales were down in Prior Lake in January and new listings coming on the market were also down. Both of these statistics could be attributed to the unusually brutal winter to date. The good news (if you are a seller want-to- be) is that the median price range that sold is 58% higher than in January of 2010. This statistic does not mean that prices are up that much but rather that we are seeing some higher priced homes selling. Fewer listings coming on the market is usually taken as a positive for sellers as there is less competition. We are seeing buyers starting to look as we head into February and with interest rates on the rise there may start to be a sense of urgency. If you have been giving some thought to selling, now might be the time.
